| Captive bead rings (CBR) aka ball closure rings (BCR) aka captive hooks are a very popular piece of body jewellery. Their popularity is due to the fact that it suits for many different types of piercings, but also to the fact that they are very comfortable to wear as because of their closed shape and rounded edges, these rings do not easily snag on clothing or hair. They look like little rings with an opening in the middle, in which a ball is put in order to complete the circle thus closing the ring. Such mechanism allows the wearer to remove the ring by simply removing the captive bead, yet the bead is held so firmly in place that it will not easily fall out.
